Safeguarding Unit….Who are we?
We are a joint Children and Adult safeguarding unit comprising of independent reviewing officers, Adult Protection Co-ordinators, Corporate Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, and Safeguarding in Education.
The Purpose of this Role:
This role is an exciting opportunity to continue the development of Adult Safeguarding as part of the integrated approach of Whole Authority Safeguarding in Monmouthshire. As part of the Integrated Safeguarding Service the Manager will work with colleagues in both Corporate and Children’s Safeguarding in developing policy and procedures where appropriate, and supporting compliance as well as good practice.
The Adult Safeguarding team comprises two specialist Safeguarding Vulnerable Adult Coordinators and Business Support. Further to this there is a group of Designated Lead Managers (DLM’s), all of whom are managers and senior practitioners from all areas of adult services. This post has day to day operational management of Adult Safeguarding and will directly line manage the specialist safeguarding team and take responsibility for the coordination and development of the larger virtual team.
Further to this, the Manager will also have responsibility to ensure that Monmouthshire has a voice in the development of the Safeguarding Agenda across Gwent and the wider all Wales perspective. It will be this involvement which underpins the development of Monmouthshire’s Safeguarding procedures and practice.
